As grocery stores are being completely wiped out, it’s easy to start feeling anxious. If you’re currently panicking like many people across the world, I encourage you to stay calm. It’s so easy to become overwhelmed with everything that’s going on in our world, but there are many things that you can do to ease your anxiety. Check out a few tips below:
- Spring Clean: Spring cleaning your home is a great way to relieve stress. As we are urged to stay inside, use any downtime to clear your space of clutter and waste. Wipe down all of your counters and surfaces. Deep clean your bathroom. Scrub the tile and grout. Change out your comforter. Sweep behind the furniture and get to that dust that often goes unseen. Light candles and allow peace and contentment to fill your home.
- Create and Plot: Now is not the time to become scared nor discouraged. Use your free time to really think about your limitless gameplan to level up. Write that script or that movie. Practice your pitch. Start that home based business. Write your business plan. Don’t sit around and mope in fear. Sometimes our greatest ideas are born out of adversity.
- Focus on Health: Feed your mind and your body healthy foods. Drink lots of water and utilize natural supplements and remedies to build your immune system. Now is the time to form all of those healthy habits you’ve been putting off. Relax with a new book. Write your feelings in a journal to de-stress. Meditate to soothing music or dance to your favorite jam. Get those endorphins going! Get that meal prep done. Juice those veggies. Try that vegan recipe. Take a walk. Find an online yoga class. Play games with your family. Be silly with your children. Laughter is good for the soul and time is a gift!
- Count Your Blessings and Be a Blessing: Saints, now is not the time to sulk in fear. God didn’t give us the spirit of fear. Pray for healing and peace across the nation. This time might be the exact thing you need for your breakthrough. Be still and know that God is in control. Think of ways you can be a blessing to others. Help out someone in need. Spend quality time with your family. Getting back the basics can ignite your blessings!
- Be Aware NOT Scared: Don’t allow the news to freak you out, but stay up to date with the CDC so you know what’s going on day by day. I listen to NPR, CNN, and MSNBC as well as my local news channels. Don’t be afraid to turn it off when it gets to be too much.
Ultimately, stay safe and take all necessary precautions recommended by the CDC. When you start to feel sorry for yourself, remember, all gatherings are cancelled including your pity party! This too shall pass!
