How am I doing?
This is a question that I often ask myself when I begin to feel tired or mentally drained. Once I realize that my mental health is declining, I run to my personalized 5-step guide that helps remove me from a low vibrational place:
- Hiking: When I see things that are bigger than me, it helps me visualize how small my problems are compared to God’s plan.
- Hot Yoga: I center my mind, body and soul while meditating and manifesting a more positive, productive mindset.
- The word of God: I repeat the word of God over and over again. For example, I repeat things like: “I am more than a conqueror. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” There is newness around you and a lot of times our perspective won’t allow us to see it.
- Lean on Others: Sometimes you need someone to call when you forget who you are. Surround yourself with friends that will encourage and uplift you when you need it most.
- Remember your Why: CJ is my why and I know that God brought him through me as his protection. I also have an intense desire to experience and enjoy life with him, so that requires me to be here for him.
It’s imperative that we prioritize and protect our mental health at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood. Think about what brings you the most peace and create a step by step plan to run to when your thoughts become cloudy. Always remember – you are loved, valued and needed.
Happy Mental Health Awareness Month!
